This Privacy Policy explains how Amerigo Marketplace LLC(“Amerigo”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Amerigo Marketplace website and services (the “Platform”). If you don't agree, don't use the Platform.
1. What we collect
You give us
- Account information: name, email, password hash, role (Buyer / Manufacturer / Admin).
- Business information (Manufacturers): company name, EIN, address, phone, website, capabilities, products, logo, photos.
- Transaction content: RFQs, messages, files, quotes, reviews.
We collect automatically
- Usage events: pages viewed, searches run, items saved, deals created — logged to our internal database for product improvement and fraud prevention. We use Sentry for error monitoring (see Section 3) but do not use third-party product analytics or advertising trackers at this time.
- Device & log data: IP address, browser type, approximate location, referring URL, timestamps.
- Cookies: only session cookies required for authentication. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add any in the future, we will update this Policy and request your consent before they load.
From partners
- Stripe: payment status and identifiers. Amerigo never sees your card number.
- Google (if you sign in with Google): name and email.
2. How we use it
- Provide, operate, and improve the Platform.
- Match Buyers with Manufacturers and facilitate transactions.
- Verify Manufacturer legitimacy (our anti-fraud review layer).
- Send transactional emails (RFQ notifications, messages, payments, approvals).
- Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. Who we share with
We share your information only with:
- Other usersinvolved in your transactions (e.g., a Manufacturer you've contacted can see your name and RFQ content; email addresses are NOT exposed between parties).
- Service providerswho help us operate: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database + file storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Upstash (rate limiting), and Sentry (error monitoring — captures stack traces, request context, and a user identifier when something breaks; does not capture form input or chat content). We may add product analytics (e.g., PostHog) in the future; if we do, we will update this list and provide appropriate consent controls before any tracking begins.
- Law enforcement or regulators when legally required, or when we believe it is necessary to prevent harm.
- A successor entityin the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale — with notice to you.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Your choices & rights
Everyone
- Access, correct, or delete your account information from your dashboard.
- Close your account at any time.
- Opt out of non-essential emails via the unsubscribe links.
California residents (CCPA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, the right to request deletion, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
European & U.K. residents (GDPR / UK-GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@amerigomarketplace.com. You can also export your account data from the dashboard at /dashboard/data. We verify your identity before fulfilling access or deletion requests.
5. Data retention
We retain account and transaction data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and fraud prevention purposes — typically up to 7 years for transaction-related records. Non-essential analytics events are kept in aggregated form.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: encrypted transit (TLS), encrypted storage (managed database and object storage), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure — use a strong password and don't share your credentials.
7. Children
The Platform is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We don't knowingly collect information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information.
8. International transfers
Our systems are based in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to the U.S. and processed under U.S. law.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
